BOAT DIVES

Canyon

Depth: -8 m. to -30 m.
Visibility: 20+ m.

One of our favorites. An underwater canyon, beginning at a depth of 8 m. and descending to 20 m., contains and incredible array of colors and an amazing variety of marine life. At the end of the canyon, a massive rock provides divers with an incredible wall dive to a depth of 40m. Don’t miss this one!

Cape Sounio

Depth: -5 m. to -24 m.
Visibility: 20 m.

A unique dive just under the 2.400-year-old majestic Temple of Poseidon. Legend has it that Aegeus, King of Athens, leapt to his death from this promontory, thus giving his name to the Aegean Sea. Small caves, canyons with incredible colors and a usually flat sea make this one of our most popular sites.

Kyra Eleni wreck

Depth: -18 m. to -30 m.
Visibility: 15 m.

The cargo ship Kyra Leni sank in 1978. Due to strong winds she was prevented from being efficiently steered and, despite the cast anchor, her port crashed against the rocks of the Island of Patroclos. Moving back, she listed on the left and cast her right anchor. Water started coming in through the engine room and hold number 2. An SOS was sent out and all passengers abandoned the ship and reached land using a rope ladder. Kyra Eleni sank on January 6, 1978. Today the site is popular with divers since the vessel’s relatively intact bow is lying in shallow waters, allowing a relaxing dive.

Piper PA -28-181

Depth: -18 m. to -24 m.
Visibility: 20 m.

A Piper PA-28-181 Warrior II aircraft with a capacity of four people,  mainly used for training purposes, or as an air-taxi. It suffered an engine failure on the way from Paros to Marathonas, resulting to a sea landing and eventually it sank. The two pilots swam to the nearby shore of Makronissos island to be found by rescue teams the following day.

Pyrgaki – The Little Tower

Depth: -5 m.  to -24 m.
Visibility: 20 m.

A geological formation of a small rock that creates what resembles to be a tower. Diving there offers clear waters.

Seal Cave

Depth: -18 m.
Visibility: 20 m.

At the east side of Makronissos island, in superbly clear waters, a family of Monachus-Monachus seals have set their home. We are often lucky and get to see these lovely creatures with the exceptionally captivating look in their big, bright eyes.

Styra

Depth: -6 m. to -18 m.
Visibility: 20 m

At the west side of Makronissos island, an exceptional dive, with two wrecks and often abundant sea life. An attractive sunset spot as well.

The Wall

Depth: -20 m.  – 40 m
Visibility: 20 m

The imposing diving landscape, with sharp rocks offers us the excellent experience of wall dive.

West Nissaki – North & South

Depth: -10 m. to -30 m.
Visibility: 20 m.

At the north side of the reef expect to see a complex of big rocks. But also, impressively large groupers, that usually live in deeper waters, often find shelter in this complex of rocks. A welcome antithesis in water temperatures, due to hot springs, is found at the NW part of Nissaki.

At the south part of Nissaki the bottom is rocky and is home to a big variety of underwater life. An ideal dive ideal for underwater photographers. It also offers us some very pleasant night dives.

SHORE DIVES

When do we prefer shore diving?

  • When the weather does not allow us to go out on a boat (wind > 4 Beaufort),
  • when the diver has not dived for a long time,
  • when we go for training.

In case you have opted for the boat dive and eventually you dive from the shore, or vice versa, the difference in pricing will be adjusted accordingly.

Profitis Elias

Depth: -6 m.  -18 m.
Visibility: 20 m

A protected bay suitable for OW divers on their course, or divers with limited experience, wishing to refresh.
